BMW Motorrad is celebrating 90 years in the motorcycle trade in style with the launch of a very special model.

The BMW R 1200 R '90 year' edition bike is designed to be the product of everything great about the manufacturer's time creating motorcycles.

Almost a century of 'The Ultimate Riding Machine' has culminated in a truly stunning model which pays homage to the tradition and origins of the company.

The special edition bike feature a black finish, with gold anodised suspension elements and a gold-coloured model inscription - an exclusive component for this machine.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Alan Dalziel, motorcycle manager at Douglas Park BMW Motorrad in East Kilbride, said: "The R 1200 RT is for the connoisseur of touring who would like to take this bike to the Highlands and islands or go over to Europe, because it is a very capable boxer engine bike built to tour."

Prices for the 90 years bike start at £10,315 OTR and riders can choose from a range of options as added extras.
