Bexhill on Sea will come together next Sunday (May 11th) to celebrate one of its famous sons - Canon Basil H Davies.
Canon Davies was an extraordinary man and while on the surface he was a much loved parish vicar, in private he was a motorbike journalist by the name of Ixion, Bexhill Observer reports.
Next weekend will see the East Sussex town celebrate his legacy with the annual Ixion Cavalcade through the streets of Bexhill.
While saying mass at St Barnabas Church from 1926 to 1940, Canon Davies wrote for The Motor Cycle magazine under his pseudonym from 1903 up until his death in 1961.
It was not until his passing that his secret was unearthed and to celebrate a parade of nearly 60 vintage bikes will drive around Bexhill.
Organiser of the event, Dave Masters told the news provider that honouring this incredible Bexhill resident in this way is a fitting tribute to the man.
