Marc Marquez, who has created headlines ever since he won the MotoGP title in his first season, has recently been to the hospital in order to undergo nasal surgery.

This surgery took place yesterday afternoon (2 December) at the Universitari Quiron Dexeus Hospital in Barcelona.

The primary reason for the surgery was to improve the breathing of the current world champion and Honda Repsol rider..

The process essentially involved the correction of a deviated septum, something that seemed to have been causing Marc to have difficulties in breathing through his nose.

The aim of the surgery is therefore to increase the size of the nasal cavity and remove any obstructions that prevent easy breathing.

It has been noticed that Marc is also one of the few bike riders who uses nasal strips in order to aid his breathing process. These strips are believed to have been of some comfort to Marc.

Due to the surgery, Marc will now be resting for a week before embarking on his busy pre-season schedule, which involves trips to Japan and Monaco.

In the meantime, all of us at MotorbikeTimes wish him a speedy recovery!
