Needless to say if you're one of a handful of the hardest men about, you might feel more at home closer to the smell of two stroke engines and burning rubber, than the whiff of roses which most glamorous film festivals smack of. So what do you do when you can't brig Cannes to the track? You bring the track to Cannes

With a little help from Britain's oldest bike manufacturer, Matchless London, the cast of The Expendables 3 got the chance to enjoy the Cannes Film Festival atop and around the kind of petrol guzzling company they are better accustomed to.

With Matchless London's exclusive The Expendables 3 collection on display, along with a few classic GL 54 bikes ready for the riding, Sylvester Stallone and company showed why Cannes need not always be about champagne flutes and more traditional seafaring modes of transportion on sunny Rivieras.

A stellar line up of Hollywood's all-time greatest action men came together at the French festival to premiere the trailer for the third instalment of the vintage, gritty, action franchise.

Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Dolph Lundgren, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Randy Couture, Victor Ortiz, Glen Powell, and director Patrick Hughes were all in attendance.

The former Governator even took a GL 54 for a ride down the red carpet. What do you think? Better or worse than teaming up with Kate Moss?

Click below to watch a sneak peak at the kind of blood and bruising to expect in The Expendables 3, out on 14 August.
