When travelling by motorbike how many people could you feasibly take? One? Two? Try ten.

Yes, ten people can be accommodated on a specially adapted motorcycle which is a big favourite in certain parts of the Philippines.

Habal-Habal, or Skylab, is the unique mode of transport where ten people can travel on the side of a two-wheeled vehicle and it is a common site in many areas of Mindanao, in southern Philippines.

This is normally achieved by attaching two planks that run parallel to the seat, and it requires a delicate balancing act between passengers.

Habal-Habal bikes are often used as budget taxi services, but Skyscanner also cites that these motorcycles are used by farmers to transport supplies and even livestock to and from their homes.

The travel website states: "Habal-Habal is a highly improvised two-wheeled single motorcycle usually ridden beyond its passenger capacity.

"Since it is used as public transportation especially in areas with narrow roads, and steeper, rougher terrain, it could possibly carry up to six passengers, at the least."
