British MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow has been taking time away from the track to help a needy family in Mexico build their home.
The Coventry native and long-time partner Lucy Heron, who married on 5 January in La Jolla, California, have been getting involved with the Homes of Hope scheme as part of their honeymoon.
Both Crutchlow and his wife crossed the Rio Grande into the Mexican peninsula and were involved in a project creating a home for a native family.
Crutchlow tweeted: "We had the opportunity to go and build a house in Mexico for a family that never had a proper home. We thought after having such a special week that it is just as important to give back! We loved it!"
The rider will be returning to the track for the 2014 MotoGP season in March but will be lining up for Ducati Corse Team instead of Monster Yamaha Tech3.
He will also be looking to build on his fifth place finish in the 2013 championship.
