Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso are set to join Ducati's testing session in Jerez in the coming week.

It marks the first time that the Italian manufacturer can take advantage of the looser Open MotoGP testing regulations and will be putting the two factory riders through their paces.

Reports from GPOne.com have stated that both Crutchlow and Dovizioso will work alongside Ducati developer rider Michael Pirro on the Spanish circuit in the build-up to the Austin MotoGP later in the month.

Ducati is making use of the various Open class benefits despite staying within the Factory class. The manufacturer will be using extra race fuels and will use softer rear tyres, which officials hope will propel the team to a series of top three results in the 2014 competition.

After the first round of MotoGP Dovizioso and Crutchlow sit in fifth and sixth place respectively and will be looking to improve on this performance when heading to Texas on 13 April.
