British rider Jonathan Rea is hoping for a good result in the WSBK race at Silverstone this weekend after a disappointing result in the Susuka eight-hour endurance race last week (27-28 July).

The PATA Honda rider won the endurance race in 2012, and his team were in second place during the race this year, until his team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari crashed the bike beyond repair.

The race was eventually won by the Musashi HARC-Pro Honda team, which included Rea's Pata Honda team-mates Michael van der Mark and Leon Haslam.

The 26-year-old said: "I was devastated to finish the 8-hour race the way we did, but these things happen and I was happy for my Pata Honda team-mates and for Honda."

Rea is looking to put the disappointment behind him as he prepares for his next race which will be at Silverstone (2-4 August), and he is hoping to win more points to try to push ahead of his current 7th place position.

The Pata Honda rider said "I've had mixed results at Silverstone in the past and I've had some great races there; I particularly remember a couple of second places in 2010, which I really enjoyed.

"We struggled a bit last year, but it's a nice circuit to ride. The modifications made to the track in recent years have made it better but I'll attack it the same way I attack every other circuit," he added.
